Condo Law
With the growing number and popularity of condominiums in Massachusetts it is no surprise that residents and visitors alike are often seriously injured while on condominium’s premises or while utilizing their various common areas and related amenities. Per Massachusetts’s law, if you are a resident or guest who is injured in a condominium or its common space, you may be entitled to recover medical costs, lost income, and other accident related expenses from any or all of the at-fault parties (i.e., condominium association, unit owner, contactors, etc).
In regards to common areas, the condominium association’s responsibility to its residents and guests are dictated largely in part to the contractual wording of the applicable trust and accompanying by-laws. An experienced attorney will investigate your claim and determine who was responsible for repairing and/or safely maintain the area in the condo, or on the condominium’s premises where the accident occurred.
If you believe you have been injured due to an accident occurring in a condo, or on a condominium association’s premises, you should consult an experienced attorney as soon as practicable.
