How Does A Lawyer Become A Super Lawyer?
A lawyer cannot nominate themselves, and are not allowed to campaign for themselves. They become a candidate as a result of a review of a Managing Partner survey, nomination by peers, third-party feedback and/or being identified by the Super Lawyers research team.
Super Lawyers are next evaluated on 12 indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition. Next, they are evaluated by a peer group of other lawyers who achieved the highest points in the first two steps of the selection process. Finally, a representative number of small, medium and large firm attorneys are selected.
Five percent of the Attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers. While 2.5% of the attorneys are selected to Rising Stars. Candidates for Rising Stars are either 40 years old or younger or have been in practice less than 10 years.
